I have a Kindle and have found it great. I'm reading more, and reading a greater variety of material. There is something about having multiple books loaded on one device that makes me want to vary my reading options. If I can open up a biography and read a few pages and then decide to read the self-help book I can do it so easily, and yes, not lose my place in either when I decide to switch to the sci-fi novel.

I was lucky. I read about them and thought it would possibly be useful, but I had planned on waiting to buy after they'd been on the market a while. Surprise! My sister bought me one for Christmas. Best gift ever, and my fears that it would be a tech toy that would gather dust does not seem to be the case. Yay!

Kai, I had no idea you can't get Kindle in the UK. Doesn't seem fair. Maybe it's because you can't get Whispernet there yet, that's the wi-fi connection. Otherwise I'd offer to smuggle one to you somehow.
Thanks for reading my review.

Hey Carolyn, glad you liked my review. Yup it was definitely a splurge -- but a fun one. Thanks for the link back. And check it out, your sites are listed at my Sites for Writers. Thanks for the heads up. You're swell.

Dear Peggy: A freind sent me your URL. She knew that I have two how-to books for writers plus, of course, my Amazon Short (The Great First Impression Book Proposal) on Kindle. I don't yet have one (a little pricey and I'm not too geeky--yet!). So I appreciated the evaluation. I will be be publishing your URL in my newsletter (Sharing with Writers) so others who are interested can get the full story. From your point of view, of course.
Anyway, thank you.

PS: Any chance you could peruse my blog at www.sharingwithwriters.blogspot.com and see if it is suitable to mention in your sites of writers. Or my portal www.howtodoitfrugally.com (which is giving me fits right now) with the same idea in mind?

Thank you so much.

I'd love to get my hands on a kindle - but we can't 'have' them in the UK. And there's no official release date, and no compatibility, supposedly, with any systems over here.

oh well - glad you like it ;)
