Hunger Mountain Contests

Hunger Mountain is both a print and online journal of the arts. They publish fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, visual art, young adult and children’s writing, writing for stage and screen, interviews, reviews, and craft essays. The print issue is published annually in the fall. The online content changes on a regular basis. Editorial offices are located at the Vermont College of Fine Arts in historical Montpelier, Vermont.

Hunger Mountain holds five contests annually:

The Hunger Mountain Prize for Young Writers
Deadline:  April 30, 2010

The Howard Frank Mosher Short Fiction Prize
Deadline:  June 30, 2010

The Hunger Mountain Creative Nonfiction Prize
Deadline:  September 10, 2010

The Ruth Stone Poetry Prize
Deadline:  December 10, 2010

The Katherine Paterson Prize for Young Adult and Children’s Writing
Deadline:  June 30, 2010
