The Times/Chicken House Children’s Fiction Competition 2011

Are you a secret storyteller? Now’s the time to let your talent out in the open. The Times and Chicken House are on a mission to discover another great children’s writer, whose book will be published around the world by Chicken House.

Open to: Writers age 18 and over. The entrant must not have previously published any book in any country, whether fiction or nonfiction.

Genre: Children’s fiction, not previously published. No picture books or graphic novels.

Target audience: 9-16 year olds

Word length: 80,000 words or less

Prize: Worldwide publishing contract with Chicken House, with a royalty advance of £10,000

Deadline: October 29, 2010
