Flash fiction contest for adults and young writers

The OddContest is an annual competition for speculative (science fiction, fantasy, or horror) stories or prose poems no longer than 500 words. The contest has been sponsored since 2008 by Odyssey Con, a science-fiction convention held each April in Madison, Wisconsin. The  2012 contest judge will be Terry A. Garey, an editor, writer and poet from Minneapolis, MN.

Open to two separate entry levels:  Adults 18 and older;  Youth under 18 as of January 1, 2012

Genre:   Speculative fiction or prose poem, flash fiction

Word length:  500 words or less

Entry fee
Adult division: $10 entry fee per story/poem; multiple entries allowed
Youth division: No entry fee, only one entry allowed

Adult divivsion: 1st Prize – $500, Odyssey Con membership, and some cool books to top 3
Youth division: 1st Prize – $50, Odyssey Con membership and some cool books to top 3

Deadline:  January 15, 2012

How to submit:  By email, do not send postal entries unless you have no access to email
