As the new girl in school, 11-year old Koolura Akopyan – aka Kool – wants what any sixth grader wants. She just wants to have friends and fit in like any other normal kid. But when she saves classmate Linda’s life one day, no one is more surprised at her own strength than Kool. Her bravery gains her the popularity with the cool kids she so desperately wants. Though she soon learns that being cool isn’t all it’s cracked up to be as she copes with her blossoming super powers and the mysterious man named Neb who has been stalking her since birth. Michael Thal blends a multi-cultural theme with enough mystery and fantasy to capture the attention of young readers. Middle school age readers will easily relate to Kool and her friends.
