“Looking For Love” Fiction Contest

But as they looked back at all the weird and wonderful books they’ve published, they had to ask themselves – where is the love?

To answer that age-old question, Quirk Books has announced the “Looking for Love” Fiction Contest. They want love stories that are fresh, fun, and strikingly unconventional. Boy Meets Girl. Girl Meets Girl. Girl Meets Shark. Shark Meets Pirate. Anything goes!

Except vampires. Sorry.

Show them a quirky love story they’ve never seen before.

Open to:  Any professional or nonprofessional writer, regardless of nationality. Writers may only enter one manuscript. Writers 18 yrs and under must have the permission of parent or legal guardian to enter.

Genre:  Romance/love story

Word length:  Minimum 50,000 words

Grand Prize:  $10,000 advance against royalties (standard form author’s agreement executed by both parties)

Entry fee:  None

Deadline:  October 1, 2013
