Apocalypse Ink Productions is a small press specializing in dark speculative fiction. Currently they are looking for dark spec-fic novella trilogies. Horror and/or dark urban fantasy are preferred. All dark spec-fic must have a supernatural element. No zombies. No far future. They are looking for stories set in the time period between 1950 and 2020. No middle grade. Adult side of YA only.
Length: 20,000-25,000 words each novella
Submissions: Query first. Send a 1-2 page query in the body of the email. Include the synopsis of each novella, your writing history, and anything you think is relevant to the query. If your query is selected, the first novella manuscript will be requested for consideration in April 2014.
Deadline: March 31, 2014
Beginning March 1, AIP is also in the market for non-fiction writing books. The theme must be relevant to writers working in today’s transitional period of self-publishing, small press, and tradition publishing. They want books that talk about the business of writing, publishing, and/or PR in today’s world of social media and changing markets. Do not submit a “how-to write” book. Suggested topics to cover include navigating e-markets, small presses and self-publishing resources, research tips and tricks, and advice from the pros on all sides of the debate.
Submissions: Query first. The reading period runs from March 1, 2014 to May 30, 2014. Do not send your query before this time. Send a 1 page query in the body of the email.
