Witness Impulse is the digital publishing imprint of William Morrow (an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers) specializing in mysteries, suspense, and thrillers in ebook format.
Launched in October 2013, Witness is the publisher of several bestselling authors. They have produced six national bestsellers led by Little Girl Lost by Brian McGilloway which spent six weeks on the combined print and e-book New York Times bestseller list. Eric Rickstad’s thriller The Silent Girls spent three weeks on USA Today bestseller list.
In their first 18 months in business, Witness titles sold over one million copies in the United States.
“We had high hopes for Witness, but the imprint has far surpassed our expectations,” said Dan Mallory, VP, executive editor at William Morrow. “Although we publish print editions of all our titles, the emphasis has been on the digital piece – and the success of this line represents a paradigm shift in what is possible with digital first publishing.”
Witness Impulse pays month royalties at the rate of 25% for the first 10,000 copies sold, then the rate increases to 50% thereafter.
